The ANSWER Coalition encourages its members and supporters to attend an important event this weekend in solidarity with the peoples of the Ivory Coast. Last year saw the Ivory Coast fall victim to the predatory designs of its former colonial overlord. On the heels of the NATO intervention in Libya, and under the same sort of humanitarian smokescreen, French troops intervened in the Ivorian electoral process, deposing incumbent Presidential candidate Laurent Gbagbo. This intervention, backed by the United States, was simply another example of the imperialist-led regime change for profit seen around the world.
On Saturday, January 28, 2012, come hear a panel of speakers with wide expertise in Ivorian and African affairs, including a representative of the ANSWER Coalition.
